Life Is Beautiful

    When I share the things that are going on in our lives they are not meant to gain sympathy, or make others feel bad. Everyone on Facebook or on blogs like mine share their day-to-day happenings, plans, and stories. Mine just happen to be a lot different than most. Can we not listen and share with people who are in other circumstances from our own? Is being different a threat?

     There are days when I consider just withdrawing from the virtual world completely. But I am just like anyone in that I need to be able to share my life with people, and online is the only way I have of doing that. I will not "shut up" about the things I'm going through just because it makes some people uncomfortable. I will also not accept the notion that our life is "hard" because we're being punished in some way. Rick and I are more dependent on God than anyone else I know, on a daily basis we are made aware of how much, and I am thankful that we are not under the assumption that we gained all we have on our own merit.

"Lord, you established peace for us, all that we have accomplished you have done for us." Isaiah 26:12

     Every day I notice dozens of things to be thankful for. Just because our life seems harder than most in the area where we live, does not mean others are better than us or that we are miserable. God gave Rick and I both the ability to see beauty where others just rush past, and that in itself is something to be thankful for. We are content wherever we are.

"I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength." Phillippians 4:11-13

     Do not feel sorry for us, or feel guilty because you have more. Learn from our contentment and happiness in our meager circumstances, and be thankful for where you are.

  1. Wow. my reply to this beautiful post just got lost in the great beyond with no hope for retrieval. I've been writing for an hour. I got signed into Google and all I needed to do was hit "Publish", and once I did, it refreshed the page, minus my reply. I tried several things I know to work in retrieval...but it is all gone. Oh well...my whole point was most likely long winded...but I couldn't help myself - your post is truly beautiful. I feel so glad to know that I know such a unique spirit as you. Our world is in a bind, our world is full of people, each person being a soul, a spirit. Our thoughts, intentions and deeds, ALL of it, have consequences, now and forever. The cycle of growth in the human race has reached what seems to so many these days, a critical point...and yet, isn't it so funny in a sad, strange, mysterious and ever hopeful way that the answer is all around us and within us that the best part of oneself, has invisibility powers...lol. What beautiful and necessary feelings they are! Knowing you as I do, is a beautiful step towards the fulfillment of wish come true...for the only wish I have, and have carried it with my every waking moment since I was 28, is that ALL souls, in the very least, once in their lives on this earth, have an intimate connection with sheer, unadulterated JOY. At the most, a continued bond...such as you have. For a large portion of my life I see the human suffering, some going their whole life, dying, having never experienced what I know is the ultimate healing. I feel sadness at time. But we are not meant to segregate ourselves...so we carry on with our bond with Joy. You help fulfill my wish, simply by existing, and I SEE you and know that one more person on this earth gets to live her life, having experienced the whole self healing that Joy makes available within us, and with that, the remainder time on earth, we spend in the instruction of the highest love of all. Knowing you truly gives me hope for human kind...To be blessed to have that hope these days is becoming so rare/ So, bless you, and all of your family and friends...may you, they and them, do what it is you do...by continually opening the awareness of the value of the self, one person at a time.       The story is told of the man who scrimped and saved to buy passage on a ship. He brought with him a meager amount of food, and ate it sparingly in his room while on board, only to find at the end of the journey that the delicious meals in the dining hall were included in the price of his ticket.
      So many people don't realize that joy and happiness aren't dependent on outside influences. We are born with it. It is inside of us, we only have to make the decision to feel it.
